Fabric haul and store review

Hey Friends! How was your week? You can bet that mines was near perfect. Why you ask? Well....
I WENT FABRIC SHOPPING. YES!!!!!!
So let me explain my excitement. Although I love very near the city (Chicago), I rarely venture out to the wonderful fabric stores in Chicago. I usually purchase fabric online and at JoAnn's (yea, I know.)
Well last weekend, all that changed. I dragged my daughters out to New Rainbow Fabrics.
I didn't get a picture of the store, but I did score some amazing fabrics and great deals to go with it.

Satin on clearance for $2.99/yard
100% Navy blue wool

Plaid wool

The store seems very small at first, but its packed full with fabrics from wall to wall. There's also a room in the back, full of clearance fabrics. I went in there to just purchase wool fabric, (which they specialize in) but obviously I walked out with so much more.

The people working there were super helpful and gave me deals and discounts that I couldn't pass up. For example, I purchased 6 yards of twill/poplin fabric in black for the price of 4 yards. Who does that?! Why do I need 6 yards? I will for sure use up every yard.

Anyways, I will for sure visit again, and often, as it was only a 30 minute drive from my house. Parking was a tad tricky. There is a parking garage across the street, so that's where we parked, and it was free. I totally recommend this store if you are ever in the area. They are located at 608 Roosevelt Rd. in Chicago.

In other news, look what I got in the mail today...

Squee!!! I ordered this about a week ago, and I was not expecting it in the mail today. Yay for mailbox surprises. I just finished 2 coats (soon to be blogged) and wanted to start on Fifi pajamas, but they will wait and Bruyere shirt has moved to the top. Luckily, I'm on vacation from work until after the holiday. Happy sewing!

Until next time
